About

I'm J.R. Miazga, a finance and governance leader based in Delaware, Ohio. My work centers on stewardship: making sure the people and communities an organization serves can trust how its resources are managed.

Today I serve as Audit & Compliance Manager for the Diocese of Toledo, leading financial governance across 121 parishes and more than 60 schools in 19 counties. My path here ran through public accounting at Plante Moran, controllership in manufacturing and distribution, and running my own fractional controller practice. Before all of that, I spent 16 years in uniform with the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force Reserve.

I believe good controls should make work easier, not harder. I focus on clear policy, practical tools, and training that help the people on the front line get it right the first time.

Risk & Internal Controls

Risk-based audit programs, segregation of duties, and cash-handling standards built for scale.

Decision-Ready Reporting

Clear reporting for boards, audit committees, and donors, supported by Excel and AI-assisted analytics.
